Dermer Appel Ruder  is a unique firm becasue we represent both insurance companies and their insureds  who have been accussed of negligent conduct and  individuals and families who have suffered personal injuries or have a family member that has died as a result of another's wrongful conduct - whether from a trucking or car accident, drowning, slip and fall, assault, a dangerous product or abuse in a nursing home. We know the insurance defense law paractice and we understand what it takes to win.    In 1983, Stephen began his career working for one of Atlanta’s premiere insurance defense law firms.  Stephen then moved onto manage litigatin as an in-house attorney for one of the nations leading property and casualty insurance companies.  He then retruned to private practice with highly qualified partners to serve both his insurance company and individual clients.   Over his career, Stephen has represented major retail chains, trucking companies, commercial establishments (restaurants, retail stores, warehouses), drivers, business owners, nursing homes, contractors, doctors, and individuals through various types of litigation, from start all the way through trial.  Together with Adam Appel and Kim Ruder, Stephen formed Dermer Appel Ruder, LLC, which now has five lawyers. Stephen, Adam, and Kim have similar backgrounds, in that they all have extensive experience working for law firms handling insurance defense litigation and will try cases. Stephen, Adam and Kim have over 80 years of litigation experience, which they put to work for the firm's personal injury clients on both sides of the "litigatoin fence."  The goal of all attorneys and staff at Dermer Appel Ruder is to  provide our clients with individualized attention throughout the handling of their case.
