W. Taylor Boone Jr.

I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where my family resided for some 48 years.  With near-native fluency in Portuguese, I majored in Spanish (and History) in college and studied German (2 years), French (3+ years) and Italian.  I was legal counsel for Coca-Cola Latin America in Coral Gables, FL; Mexico City, Mexico; San Jose, Costa Rica; and the last 4 years in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where I was Legal Division Manager of the Caribbean Region.  I entered the private practice of law in 1980 specializing in international law (heavy focus on Latin America and the Caribbean).  In 1983 I was appointed Honorary Consul of Chile in Atlanta and served two governments for about 10 years, rising to Second Vice Dean of the Atlanta Consular Corps; and was twice decorated by Chile for my service (Orden de Bernardo O'Higgins, Comendador and then Gran Oficial).  I was Chile's attache' during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, attache' for the Brazilian Paralympic Committee for Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, and legal counsel for the Brazilian Olympic Committee for the '96 Games.  Since the 1990's I have been even more heavily focused on Latin American transactions in Mexico, Chile and Brazil in particular.
