About Ophelia
Biography
Ophelia Chan brings a rare probate perspective because she’s done the work both behind the bench and in private practice. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she moved to Georgia and earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. She began at the Cobb County Probate Court as a staff attorney, and in 2009 Judge Kelli L. Wolk asked her to serve as Chief Clerk. In that role, Ophelia helped build new court procedures and served as an assisting judge on estate, guardianship, mental health, and minor guardianship and conservatorship matters. Today, she uses that background to help clients make smart, steady decisions in probate—whether the goal is to administer an estate efficiently or to litigate when there’s a serious dispute. She has handled cases throughout metro Atlanta’s probate and superior courts and has represented clients before the Supreme Court of Georgia. Ophelia also teaches other lawyers and judges through bar presentations and probate-focused seminars.
