Biography
Attorney Cornel Potra attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia and graduated in May of 2000. During law school, Attorney Potra prayed about the area where God wanted him to live and the area of law that God wanted him to practice. He took the Washington State Bar Exam in 2000, and he began Potra Law Firm in the attic of his Virginia home in January 2001, where he first practiced immigration law. Shortly after his wife's graduation from law school in 2001, they moved to Georgia to continue their work in this field, and he became a member of the Georgia Bar in 2005. Attorney Potra enjoys working in the field of immigration because this field enables him to integrate his education with his personal experiences as well as his passion for those new to this country. Attorney Potra sees immigration law as an opportunity to creatively and zealously fight for his clients.

We take great care to give our potential clients an honest, accurate legal analysis of their cases and a correct understanding of the costs involved in such representation from the start. Every attorney has his own way of setting fees and charging clients. While other lawyers often disclose additional fees progressively, we work on a flat fee basis and disclose all fees right away so that our clients will not incur unexpected charges later on. Our fees include expenses such as translation of documents, shipping and handling, photocopying, and interview fees. We give our clients payment plans, and we credit their $100 consultation fee toward their legal fees if they retain within a week of the consultation. At times, when extreme situations come about, we also extend pro bono representation or give reduced fees or lengthier payment plans. The amount of time that we spend in a consultation is determined primarily by the difficulty of the case. We try our best to quickly uncover and explain every possible legal option to our potential clients so that they can make the best decisions in how to proceed. In more straightforward cases, this fast analysis might seem brief, but we are always ready to answer any questions or to further explain any concepts that might be confusing. Each of the lawyers at our firm is experienced and well-equipped to analyze a potential client’s case.
