Terry Nelson Massey

Terry N. Massey is a respected member of the Rockdale and surrounding communities. Terry is a proud Double Dawg, graduating with his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Georgia. Since graduating from law school in 1990, Terry has practiced as a Partner or Principal in his own firm. His practice has always been focused on criminal defense, family law, and assisting small business owners as well as an extensive range of civil matters.

As well as being a trusted legal counselor and strong advocate for thousands of satisfied clients, Terry also serves as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Conyers, where he has served on the bench for the past 20 years. Terry’s success and service in the courtroom, both on and off the bench, have developed an immeasurably deep understanding of conflict resolution. In addition to being trained in alternative dispute resolution, Terry’s experience has permitted him to expand his practice to include civil and domestic mediation. Terry has mediated for several years and his mediation practice continues to grow as more and more clients are searching for alternatives to emotionally intense, costly, and time-consuming litigation.

Terry is active in both the State and Rockdale County Bar Associations, and has served as a past president of the Rockdale County Bar Association. He is a Member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Terry has also served in a variety of positions with Young Life of Morgan County, Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce (General Council), Rotary Club of Conyers (past President and Rotarian of the Year), Leadership Georgia (1999), Leadership Rockdale (1993), and Rockdale Cares (Board Member).

Terry and his wife, Shelly, currently live in Greensboro and have one son and two daughters: Justin, Hayden, and Maggie. Terry is an active Elder of Gathering Madison Church. Terry enjoys coaching youth athletics, playing golf, and is an avid photographer.
