M. Andrea Vaughn

Melissa Vaughn is an associate in the St. Louis office of Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP, where she focuses on toxic tort and environmental litigation, product liability, and business litigation. 

Melissa defends clients in federal and state courts across the country and is responsible for all aspects of litigation from inception through dismissal, settlement, or trial. She has litigated toxic tort, product liability, FELA, and business litigation matters in Missouri, Illinois, and other jurisdictions in the United States. Melissa has participated in all phases of litigation including pre-suit investigation, written discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, as well as vigorous motion practice and trial preparation.  

Prior to joining the firm, Melissa represented clients in litigation involving insurance coverage disputes, primarily first-party property matters and bad faith claims in both federal and state jurisdictions. In addition, her practice included construction negligence and professional malpractice defense, successfully negotiating pre-suit and pre-trial settlements on behalf of her clients.
