Robert Edward Stevens

With more than 40 years experience practicing in the family law courts, Bob's practice focuses exclusively on matrimonial and family law. He represents individuals and families in matters of separation and divorce as well as asset division and distribution, often involving complex financial issues in cases of family-owned businesses or professional practices, such as dental, medical, and legal practices. Bob also handles child custody and visitation disputes as well as the determination and modification of alimony and child support. In addition to representing individuals in litigation, Bob assists clients pursuing alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration. Bob is a certified arbitrator through the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and an experienced mediator in family law matters.

Since receiving his J.D. from Syracuse University, Bob has been admitted to the South Carolina and the New York State Bars. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1993 and the Past President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Academy. Bob is currently the South Carolina Chapter Delegate to the National Board of Governors of the AAML.

Bob’s family has been living in the South Carolina Low Country since the early 1970s. He and his immediate family moved here permanently in the 1990s.

Bob sits on the Board of Directors of the Hilton Head Island Recreation Association and is a past President of the Board. The Hilton Head Island Recreation Association is a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for local residents by producing and coordinating public recreation programs, activities, and events for all ages in conjunction with the Town of Hilton Head Island.
