I have been working with Josh Hill since 2020 to upgrade my discharge from "under honorable conditions (general)" to "honorable". The entire process, despite some minor setbacks with the boards, was a positive experience. From the very beginning, Josh was always patient and professional. I have unfortunately had a wealth of experience with attorneys of various disciplines over a year and half period of legal battles including military, criminal, civil, and family law. Of the six attorneys I have had to retain in that timeframe, and the many others I have consulted with, Josh Hill has... been hands down the easiest to work with. Many attorneys will be difficult to reach or will try to nickel and dime you for every email or phone call. He shifts gears quickly: we never had to go to bat for the initial reason I retained him - but the legal battlescape is capricious, and I later found myself on the hook for a matter that was related but not on the contract I signed. He was well within his rights to charge me new fees and write new contracts, but he didn't pull that move. He stuck with me, applied my initial fees to the new task, and put a lot of work into my matter over a year and a half after I had first hired him for a different reason. He constructed a 160-some page package for a two-star general on the ludicrous time constraint of about one week. His work directly resulted in the outcome that I desired. But here is the thing - I also listened to what he told me to do. If you do the same, you can have a good result. This is an effective and trustworthy attorney. What's more, he is the only lawyer who I think legitimately cared about my outcome. If you are seeking a military law attorney, this is the one you should hire.

Josh Hill is an amazing attorney!!! 3 year's ago I needed VA help with a Hip problem, I was told I could not get any medical help because of my military discharge from the United States Navy 33 year's ago. When I was notified that I provided a positive urinalysis I without hesitation contacted Mr. Hill, I explained to him my situation and immediately decided to hire him after a phone call. After my command flew me back from deployment on 03/14/2019 I knew my time was limited, I needed a game plan, I ...notified Mr. Hill of my EAOS which was 06/02/2019, my command did not notify me of non judicial punishment until my last two weeks in the Navy. Mr. Hill was brutality honest when it came to the possible outcomes and highly advised that I elected for NJP not Court Martial. Since I was only two weeks away from my EAOS he suspected that my command would not have enough time to process me via administrative separation procedures. It was a tough pill to swallow but I took his advice. When push came to shove Mr. Hill submitted a letter of representation and was able to successfully defer an immediate Captains Mast by asking for more time in order to respond with written matters on my behalf. This now put me on my last week in the Navy, miraculously beyond all doubt I manged to have Captains Mast on my last working day 05/31/2019, I was found guilty of article 112A and was rewarded reduction to the next inferior pay grade. My DD214 is as follows: Honorable/RE-R1/ E-4/Member advanced to PO2 but not promoted at time of separation (rank remained the same) With my Re Entry code I plan on doing the reserves as if this never happened. Mr. Hill did me a favor since my command waited so long to contact me and start the process that he decided not to charge me the 500$ retainer fee each month, I cannot thank this man enough and only wish that if you're reading this and need legal advice please contact him.
