OUTCOME: Overwhelmingly positive

Parentage matter in which mother had sole physical custody of the minor child. After moving several times, taking the child out of kindergarten, and ultimately ending up homeless, parents agreed that ... father would have physical custody for at least the child's 1st grade. When father attempted to memorialize this by applying for a Court order, mother came from Orange County to San Diego County and unilaterally withdrew the child from school and took her to Orange County. She then all but refused access to father for several months. Ethan (and his firm) were retained by father. Ethan first flew to Santa Cruz County, where the case had been filed, and got a transfer to San Diego. He then filed an ex parte in San Diego, where sole physical custody was granted to the father. A final order was recently made confirming the temporary orders. Mother has been barred from custody for her alienation until such time as she demonstrate she will no longer be a danger to the child.
