A Rock Hill native, Mitchell Byrd received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wofford College in 2000. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004, where he served on the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate, and Trust Journal. He was also an active member of the University of South Carolina Moot Court Bar. His father is an attorney as was his grandfather, so practicing law is in his blood.
Since being sworn into the South Carolina Bar in 2004, Mitchell has focused on litigation within the criminal justice system as an economics crime prosecutor for the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office and within the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation system. He is a member of the Greenville County Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and Injured Workers’ Advocates. In 2014, he was selected as a member of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Leadership Academy. He was recently awarded Legal Elite of the Upstate.
Mitchell says the thing he enjoys most about practicing law is helping people solve problems when they may not be in the position to help themselves. He strives to be generous with his time so that he can truly understand his clients’ needs. Mitchell and his wife Megan have a son, Patrick. He enjoys time with the family, the outdoors, music, collecting records, playing guitar, and cooking.
