Alexis Kynett Poling

Alexis is a Conway native who began working at Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers as a paralegal in April of 2016. She continued working at the firm while completing her paralegal degree from Horry Georgetown Technical college. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Organizational Leadership from Columbia College where she graduated with honors.

In May of 2022, Alexis graduated with her Juris Doctorate Degree with a concentration in children’s law from the University of South Carolina School of Law. In law school, Alexis was a member of the Mock Trial Bar, Society of Women in Law, the Children’s Advocacy Law Society, and the Latinx Law Society.

Alexis also participated in the University’s Juvenile Justice Clinic as an attorney under the supervision of her professor, Joshua Gupta-Kagan. Through this experience, she earned firsthand knowledge by having her own cases and clients whom she represented for their juvenile crimes and appeared in court on behalf of those clients.

After passing the SC Bar exam, Alexis returned home to Horry County to re-join Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers family as a personal injury attorney.
