John Patrick Rankin

JP comes to Charleston from San Diego, California where he worked in the nightlife and hospitality industry after obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. After developing the management and people skills required to succeed and grow in that career, he decided the nightlife industry was not congruent with the life he wanted to live, so he decided to become an attorney to fulfill his passion for helping people. Shortly after obtaining his JD from California Western School of Law, he joined WestPac WealthPartners and became a financial representative and a certified general securities representative. This allowed him to be of service to as many people struggling to get their financials in order as he could. After being sworn in, JP opened his own law practice in California to assist some of those same people with their trusts, wills, and estates.

Since moving to the East Coast at the end of 2021, he has also become licensed in North Carolina and in South Carolina. When he is not chasing his 1 and half-year-old boxer puppy around the house, he spends his time breaking down Amazon delivery boxes that his wife Diane lovingly leaves for him in the garage, attempting to relive his glory days by playing in an adult men’s soccer league without injuring himself, and cheering on Charlotte FC every home game.
