Ranny was born and raised in Manning, SC, and currently lives with his family in Georgetown.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2004 with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in Criminal Justice. Ranny earned his JD from Charleston School of Law. While in law school, Ranny earned a CALI award for his coursework in Legal Research and Writing. He was on the staff of RESOLVED: Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ranny was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in November of 2014. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Horry County Bar, and hte Gerogetown County Bar.
