James Sharpe Bruce

Jamie Bruce is a partner at K&L Gates and maintains an international and Carolinas-based legal practice focusing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial contracts and resort development. Mr. Bruce is one of the founding partners in the Charleston office for K&L Gates, the firm's 40th office worldwide. The firm has over 2,000 lawyers and maintains offices in most of the world's gateway cities including New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Moscow, Sao Paulo, and Dubai.

Mr. Bruce is a member of the firm's Corporate practice group and regularly advises clients on transactions including (i) stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, (ii) negotiated joint ventures and strategic alliances, (iii) distressed debt acquisitions and dispositions, (iv) structuring and documenting resort communities, including joint venture agreements, development agreements, amenity treaties, hotel agreements, and golf agreements, (v) corporate reorganizations and restructurings, (vi) private equity and venture capital financings, and (vii) general corporate and commercial matters, including contract negotiation and the formation and capitalization of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.
