Christopher Paul Deters

Christopher P. Deters works in the firm’s construction and civil litigation practice group. He previously served as an associate with Pierce, Herns, Sloan & McLeod, LLC, where he focused on construction litigation, toxic torts, and insurance defense. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable R. Markley Dennis, Jr., circuit court judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Deters received his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing, Michigan, and his bachelor’s degree in English literature from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Deters, who holds an AV preeminent rating, is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Charleston Lawyers Club, and the Defense Research Institute.
