I represented a minority shareholder in a corporation. The company voted to redeem my client's shares and the parties disputed the value of the company. The company was attempting to value the compan ... y by only looking at the assets involved in the business but failed to factor in the real property owned by the business. Once the real property was added to the assets of the company, my client was able to obtain a fair value for his ownership interest in the company.

OUTCOME: Trial court granted defendant's motion for summary judgment; affirmed on appeal.

I represented the manufacturer of a snow thrower. The plaintiff injured himself on the impeller of a two-stage snow thrower. Upon inspection, it was determined that the retailer improperly set up and ... serviced the snow thrower. The manufacturer filed a motion for summary judgment based on the retailer's actions. The court determined that the retailer's actions resulted in a supervening, superceding action and that such actions were the cause of the plaintiff's injuries. The retailer's supervening, superceding actions resulted in my client being found not liable for any injuries to the plaintiff.
