I am a licensed attorney and I retained Michael because I had a complicated family court case, due to jurisdiction issues--namely, an order from another state that was being challenged in SC. Before I met Micheal, I consulted with several family lawyers. None seemed to understand the jurisdictional i...ssues, or how to navigate them. Michael knew it, along with all the nuances. (Years later, I still haven't met a SC family lawyer who understands jurisdiction the way he does.) Thanks to him, I now understand jurisdiction ,as applied to other areas of the law, in a way that few attorneys seem to (I'm actually shocked at how many mistakes attorneys make in this area--big ones). Michael also cares about his clients and their cases. And, he's "a nice guy"--which means he's easy to work with. He is not cheap, but he is at the top of his field, with incredible qualifications. And, he is very fair in his billing--more than honest. Overall, I had an excellent experience with Michael and recommend him to anyone seeking an attorney--especially if you have "jurisdictional issues" e.g. one of the parties lives out of state, you have an out-of-state order, one of the parties has left the state with the children (he's very, very experienced with parental abduction--including overseas issues).
