I represent employees across South Carolina who have been wronged at work. For more nearly 20 years, my practice has been dedicated to the people whose voices employers tried to silence — workers fired for discrimination, retaliated against for protected speech, denied wages they earned, or pushed out for refusing to participate in wrongdoing. I help employees fight back and win.
My practice focuses on the matters that most affect working South Carolinians. I negotiate severance agreements to ensure departing employees receive what they are owed. I litigate discrimination cases under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, and Section 1983. I represent public employees whose First Amendment rights have been violated by government employers. I handle FLSA wage and hour matters, retaliation claims, whistleblower cases, and complex civil rights litigation. I also represent clients in FOIA actions and administrative proceedings before federal and state agencies.
What distinguishes my practice is the depth of my courtroom experience and the breadth of cases I handle from start to finish — from pre-litigation negotiations through trial and appeal. I have handled cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and federal district courts throughout South Carolina. I have changed state policy through litigation against state agencies, recovered substantial settlements for individual clients, and secured published appellate decisions that protect employees.
My recognitions include AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Employment Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Legal Elite of the Midlands across multiple practice areas including Employment, Civil Rights, and Appellate Law. I hold the Martindale-Hubbell Platinum Client Champion designation, reflecting sustained client review excellence. I co-authored the chapter on unemployment benefits in South Carolina's primary employment law treatise.
If you are facing termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or unpaid wages — or if you have received a severance agreement you need reviewed — I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your case.
