William Dixon Robertson III

Dixon Robertson has practiced law in Columbia, South Carolina, since 1984. His business focuses exclusively on building construction. He tries cases for homeowners whose contractors fail to deliver, and for other building owners when their projects don't work the way they should. Dixon has been of counsel to McGowan, Hood & Felder, LLC, since April 2008. From 1996 to 2008 he ran a solo practice. Previously he was a partner in Bowers Orr & Robertson, and an associate with Nexsen Pruet Jacobs & Pollard. He was law clerk to the late Judge Randall T. Bell of the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Dixon has both undergraduate (B.A., 1980) and law (J.D., 1983) degrees from the University of South Carolina. He served in the United States Army as an infantryman from 1974 to 1976, and is thankful that he never saw combat. He is a member in the American Association for Justice and the South Carolina Association for Justice. Dixon balances practicing law with evaluating and developing software to help trial lawyers keep their stuff straight and try cases. He lives in downtown Columbia with his wife and teenage daughter.
