If I Could Choose Zero Stars I Would

I waited three weeks for a phone consult with Ms Mason and paid for child care so I would have full attention during my 30 minute consult. I never received that scheduled call from the office and no one contacted me to cancel which is completely unacceptable. The only way I knew there was a problem w...as when I called ( after waiting 20 minutes) to ask why I hadn’t received my call and was rudely informed that the assistant and the lawyer were out sick. The receptionist could not explain why I wasn’t given a call, text or email to inform me my appointment was cancelled. Now I am out 25$ for infant care due to this inconsideration which is also compounded by the stress of an upcoming divorce. Please do not choose this lawyer through the SC Bar Referral Service!

My sincerest apologies that we had to cancel your consultation. My receptionist and I were both out sick and I had someone filling in to answer the phones. I can assure you that is not a regular occurrence. I understand this is a difficult time and I would be happy to give you a free consultation due to the added stress our illnesses caused you. Again, my apologies. Cindi Mason

The help I needed

At a time when I felt like I was being taken advantage of and that I could not solve an issue without guidance, Cynthia Mason was there. Cynthia was both very professional and easy to talk to. Her office worked in a timely manner to help me with a situation that I felt was out of my hands. She always... seemed very honest and upfront with my case. She was easy to get in contact with, replied quickly, and was just all around helpful. I was debating if I needed to get a lawyer for my predicament, but I'm so glad that I consulted with her because I would have been stuck in a situation that I didn't need to be in. 10/10 !

I asked for a Lawyer and they gave me a Tigress

I knew from the very beginning that my divorce would be contested, even hostile. There were issues with a disabled child, DSS child services, not to mention infidelity and some very real psychological issues on the part of my ex. I called the State Bar Association for a recommendation, a lawyer wit...h experience in these areas, and specifically asked for one "with teeth". They connected me with Cynthia Mason, and I was immediately impressed with her. In one of the longest, most drawn out divorces I could have imagined, she was always on top of everything, armed to the hilt with data, both procedural and personal, at every turn, to counter each new twist my ex called into play, She also saved me from myself, with advice and instruction that kept me from making some key errors through my ignorance and frustration as delay after delay from my ex's side wore me down (her tactic of choice). With Cynthia's encouragement I stayed the course, and in the end I was awarded the house, and my children, with no alimony obligations and even a monetary award for support of our autistic daughter. Looking back, I now see that no other possible path would have resulted in so good an outcome, something that Cynthia never lost sight of, and I will be forever grateful to her, and to the South Carolina Bar for leading me to her.
