John Aaron Ecton

John A. Ecton started Ecton Law Firm, PA in April 2004. The firm provides Confidential, Empathetic and Courteous hands-on assistance for individuals and businesses that have found themselves with unmanageable federal and state tax problems.

John Ecton received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1992. He began his legal career in Columbia, South Carolina the same year. John received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma in 1989. John is a Member of the South Carolina Bar, and admitted to practice before all the Courts in South Carolina and the United States Tax Court.

John Ecton was recently honored, as voted by his peers, with a recognition by Greater Columbia Business Monthly in its selection of “Legal Elite Of The Midlands” for work in the Tax Law area of Tax Problem Resolution and Tax Controversies. John is the Author of the book ”IRS Tax Resolution” (US Tax Publishing Corp. 2008).

John has been activity with Dutch Fork High School Athletics for several years; the long-time Treasurer of Lake Murray Titans Baseball, Inc., the Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization designed to promote youth baseball in Irmo and surrounding areas; former President and Board Member of Irmo Little League, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit; and former Board Member and past President of Friarsgate Titans Pop Warner Youth Football, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit. John’s wife Angela is the former President of the Dutch Fork Touchdown Club and remains active in many of Dutch Fork's athletic organizations. Their 2 boys have kept them active in all of these various organizations. Our involvement and commitment to this community and the state of South Carolina is paramount.

John is an active member of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS) and a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals.
