My client had overstayed his visa. He was out of 'status' and arrested by Charlotte police on traffic related charges. He was then placed on an "ICE" hold. I bonded my client out. I represented my clie ... nt in Charlotte Immigration court, and after three months, based on my brief and supporting documents to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), my client's case was 'closed' and today he is applying for his green card based on his marriage to a U.S. citizen. He is out of removal proceedings and will soon move out of the shadows and contribute to our society as a taxpaying resident. I expect my client to become a U.S. citizen within three years.

After presenting convincing evidence and creditable witnesses, DHS agreed that my client deserved to stay in the United States at the end of the hearing. The Immigration Judge agreed and issued a final order canceling my client's deportation. My client is free, a legal permanent resident today and applying for U.S. citizenship.
