Mr. Jones’s undergraduate education included two years at Catawba Valley Community College (2005-2007) where he played shooting guard/point guard for the back-to-back conference champion Buccaneers basketball team. In 2007, he earned the status award of NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American in the sport of basketball. He then attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, graduating cum laude, and majoring in finance and marketing in 2010. He then earned a Juris Doctor Degree from the Charlotte School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2013. Mr. Jones has been licensed and practicing law in the State of North Carolina since 2013.

Lost my money & son!
I paid Derek to represent me in a 3rd custody lawsuit filed against me by my ex-wife. I paid a lot up front & the case was never heard. I lost my money and my son thanks to Derek Jones not doing what he was paid to do. I would never recommend him to anyone for family court.
