Sarah then received her law degree with honors from Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, DC. In law school, she served for two years on the American University International Law Review, and as note and comment editor for one year.
Sarah Wenzel is very involved in the Haywood County community. She joined Altrusa International, Inc. of Waynesville in 2004, and has served on the Board as President in 2007-2008. She currently serves as the Scholarship Committee Chair. Sarah also currently serves on the Board of the Fund for Haywood County, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, where she serves as the Grants Committee Chair.
In the past, Sarah has served on the boards of various other community organizations, such as the Haywood County Hospice Advisory Committee and Habitat for Humanity. She also volunteers for the Haywood County School Foundation and Folkmoot USA.
Sarah is a member of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law section and the Elder Law section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
