Danya Ledford Vanhook

I had hoped when I initially hired Ms. Vanhook that because she had been a former family court judge that she would know all of the ins, outs, loopholes, and best ways to sway judgements for her clients. She doesn't. I thought because she was a mom, that she would be sympathetic for my particular sit...uations and predicaments, she wasn't. I thought because of time constraints and my location she would work hard to fast track my case, nope. I actually felt like she was partnering with my ex's attorney to keep continuing the case so I could not get custody of my son, and told her so. Firing her did not make it clear I was done with her lack of professionalism and assistance. She took money from me to do a job that wasn't done. I stopped paying her and told her that there would not be another dime until she got me to court. I feel she should refund my money, as I did her job myself. The most she did was file a motion for me, that I paid for, and appear in court for the weekly sorting of cases and agree with counsel to continue continuing the case. I don't think that was worth what I paid, as that may have equaled less than 30 minutes of time dealing with my case alone. She never, in her tenure on my case, let me know my son needed to be subpoenaed to appear, he's 12. She never truly gave me the information I asked for and rarely took it upon herself to contact me. Firing her twice didn't make a dent for her to withdraw, until I took matters in my own hands with a judge. Don't use this attorney for child custody/divorce. Ms. Vanhook does not put the needs of her clients first. If you want updates or questions answered, you have to contact and contact and contact Ms. Vanhook before you get an answer, which is probably a half-truth answer at best. I got myself on the docket for my custody trial. I may not be an attorney, or handled myself perfectly in court, or was told I had to subpoena my son, so he did not get to include his voice and let the court know how he felt, but I got the job done and I am now waiting on my court order from the judge. I am glad this is over and no matter what happens, I know it's more than I could have expected from Ms. Vanhook based on Ms. Vanhook's previous work and care on my case. I had to give her at least one star, but in my opinion, deserves none.

I hired Danya to help get custody of my three children, and she fought hard for me. The divorce process is tough, and not only is it emotionally difficult and physically draining. The actual legal process itself is simply unchartered territory for for me. My divorce was one of the most painful and ...grueling experience of my life, and Danya help me successfully navigate this nightmare! I felt as though Danya genuinely cared about me, and the fate of my children. She listen to my perspective, and my opinions, and incorporated that into her thinking for the case, if it was appropriate. Danya didn't sugar coat anything, and she got me through making tough choices that would be best for me and my children. My case was complicated or that I made it complicated because, I was in playing shocked by my my ex-husband's ridiculous unjustified financial demands! Danya has the experience and is knowledgeable of the law. She worked my child custody case in the most cost-effective possible. Danya does not implify the attorney stereotype of those seeking only to make a profit. She is a good person and someone, I also consider to be a friend!

I hired Danya for a very difficult custody case. She was very effective in assessing the situation and getting to the point without wasting time. She stroke me as very intelligent and passionate about her job and justice. My ex-husband, with whom I have domestic violence history and I've been divors...ed for 5 1/2 years now, left town 2 years ago and got married, leaving our daughter in my care, which I was very grateful to see happen and fully supported his decision. However, that move had a negative impact on our daughter. Recently he showed up with false allegations and police at our door, and took her into custody, under false allegations. His lawyer is a very questionable character, with whom I dealt with in the past. Five years ago, he was able to trick meinto agreeing to things that were not to my benefit, but to the benefit of his client, despite the facts of the matter. I was scared, without money and with a free lawyer that was doing the best she could. This time around, I had Danya. She came very highly recommended by another fiend lawyer. I was proven right in my choice to trust her. Danya delivered fast and furious. She did exactly what she promised the first time. She was very effective in hearing my points, assessing the situation and delivering under high stress and limited time. I don't know how she pulled that rabbit out of the hat, but his lawyer was destroyed. She was cutthroat no matter how lowd this guy got. His clients (my ex and his very rich family) were left extremely disappointed. She didn't give-in to the pressure and delivered flawlessly. I am so thankful for having her on my side. God bless Danya and I will continue to pray for her and her future successes. Thank you God, thank you Danya and the judge, for serving justice and getting me my daughter back.

After having Danya in a case where I was the plaintiff, she met me immediately and got down to business and even allowed for multiple payments since I didn’t have it all immediately. I hired her in quickly learned that it is good to have someone within the local court system who knows everyone, es...pecially other attorneys, and I learned that she once was a judge herself - what I personally discovered is that when the case suddenly became about five different types of cases from child support to custody to divorce to criminal, to being a plaintiff in a criminal case as well as terrible DEPOSITIONS-immediately, she was on -the- ball and working with me in a type of war-room situation - I will say that the courts and everyone took me a little bit more serious, then graduated into way more serious when I had an attorney handling things. But, she seemed to know everyone in the system and really did her homework to develop her own take on the situation. Ultimately, I got exactly what I asked for on day-one. She even answered my call in an erroneous arrest situation, and discovered a key point in that a warrant was issued without a judges signature - I have her on standby even to this day, and the cool thing was is that she handled all of this while I was living in another state. I love Danya. I would highly recommend her, she will keep you honest and follow the law, and she really knows the law . She will work with you and anyone who has ever left her a negative rating, more-than likely did something to warrant the law to make the proper decision

Danya was a lifesaver when I found myself as a young, single mother. She scheduled a consultation with me within the same week I called and gave me her undivided attention. She was extremely thorough with my separation papers and my divorce, bringing up many requests that I hadn’t thought of. She answered my emails and phone calls within 24 hours. Everything was done in a timely manner. Danya is very intelligent and trustworthy! Going through a divorce wasn’t an ideal situation I wanted to find myself in but I knew I was in good hands with Danya. The overall outcome of my divorce and child custody was in my favor and I know it was because of how hard Danya fought for my child and I. I highly recommend her to everyone!
