Michael Kyle McEnery

Michael is a Raleigh native who recently moved to Ashevile, NC because of his love of the outdoors and the mountains.  When he isn't working, Michael can often be found on the water somewhere with a fishing pole in his hand.  He enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, running, playing with his dog, and reading.  Michael attended North Carolina State University for undergraduate and went to law school at Campbell University.  During his time in law school, he interned for Judge Anne Marie Calabria at the North Carolina Court of Appeals and worked at the Federal Public Defender's office In Raleigh.  He began his practice in Raleigh and practiced there for several years before deciding to move to Asheville. Michael concentrated his practice in the area of criminal defense in both state and federal court. He accepted a job with the McDowell County District Attorney's office in 2019 and primarily handles a variety of serious felony cases, many of which are resolved through trial by jury.
