The best family law attorney I have ever met

As an attorney I knew I needed an expert attorney to handle my bitter divorce; I did not know Emily at the time but she came highly recommended by attorneys I know. Emily obtained all of my initial goals and charged me 1/3rd what opposing counsel charged my ex. In other words she absolutely won my ca...se as she is an expert. I was unsure of the judge assigned to my case and of opposing counsel but Emily kept everything on tract to move the case and get it over with, being a bulldozer or a charmer, whatever she needed to do for me. 5 stars and a whopping high 5. Whatever Emily does she will do it in an exemplary fashion.

Ms. Kristen Munoz

I've been working with Emily for child custody cases for both of my children with separate father's, so we dealt with different judges and attorneys. It was and had been very complicated and intense cases, ongoing for the past 8 years. I've had to spend so much time in the courthouse watching unrela...ted court cases waiting for my trials. I have literally seen the judge telling attorneys in an unrelated case to consult with Emily for advice because they were struggling and he had full confidence in her knowledge because of a previous case she was involved in. Not only did this give me hope and more confidence in her (both things I already had) but it put fear into the opposing side as well. She is the BEST attorney I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with (I've had 9) and I have grown to love her as a dear friend as well. She will be honest and tell you like it is in a compassionate way, because, unlike most attorneys, she really cares. I absolutely LOVE this woman.

Skilled Attorney who combines her respect for the rule of the law with strategy and passion!

I first heard about Mrs. Dezio a year ago when experiencing frustration with my prior attorneys in my custody case. I heard about an outcome in one of her cases and immediately contacted her. My custody case was interstate, although the District Court of Transylvania in North Carolina retained juri...sdiction, so the last few years involved multiple trips for court hearings and eventually resulted in a very negative ruling that took primary custody from me and awarded it to my ex-husband, whose objective and behavior was entirely vindictive. I immediately moved back to North Carolina in order to be near my two sweet boys. As a medical transcriptionist employed from my home, I had always been present for them and we have a wonderful relationship. My ex-husband, who is German, filed a motion to terminate and various other complaints to harass me. By the time I got to Mrs. Dezio's office, I had two accordion files and an overwhelming amount of evidence and a very unappealing case. She sifted through loads of information, was able to grasp the picture quickly, and immediately developed a realistic approach. Mrs. Dezio was not optimistic about my case and did not promise me an amazing outcome. She told me realistically what she believed she could accomplish and worked hard to that end. She kept her office visits to a minimum so I wouldn't have to pay over my retainer; however, kept me informed of events as they progressed. I worked for an attorney in Georgia, and know that some attorneys wait until the last minute to file things. Emily filed all of my answers and motions in a timely manner without my having to ask. They were a jump ahead of opposing counsel in every way. While I have had prior attorneys who accepted sums of money but were very ineffective, Mrs. Dezio's fees were reasonable, not exorbitant, and worth every penny. While in this changing economy many attorney's take advantage of clients to inflate billable hours and increase their bottom line, Mrs. Dezio's bottom line is concern to be the best advocate she can for her client, and that is rare in today's society. As I take my children to soccer games or play with them at the park, I am so thankful to have joint custody of my children in an arrangement that allows them to spend time with both parent and reduces conflict to them. They are the sunshine of my life! Mrs. Dezio's extensive of knowledge of family law and respect in the court system achieved the best possible outcome for me and my boys after years of litigation. Not only would I recommend her to others for either custody or appeals, she is the ONLY attorney I would recommend in Western North Carolina . . . .
