Jared Timothy Amos

I am writing this as the wife of a former client and local business owner to Catawba County. We paid Jared Amos a $3,000 flat fee for contempt and child support motions. Although he filed the motions, he failed to do the actual work required to win the case. He repeatedly ignored our emails and refu...sed to meet with us to prepare for court. Most importantly, he refused to subpoena the opposing party’s records despite our asking five plus times!! This directly affected our legal rights and left us with no defense. We did not ask for all our money back—only a fair portion since he never actually went to court to try any of the cases. He refused any refund, claiming his 'hourly' billing was already over the set rate. We eventually hired a Raleigh attorney who found $35,000 in hidden income that Mr. Amos refused to look for or subpoena. He even offered us $750 for a confidentiality agreement to keep us quiet. We have declined and are reporting this to the North Carolina State Bar.
