Plaintiff Arwinder Singh, of Fremont, a 24-year-old man who ... said he was beaten by two men at a party in the Mission Hills neighborhood and then held at gunpoint by off-duty Hayward police Officer Sukhjeet Singh, will receive more than $100,000 in the settlement, according to his attorney. Arwinder Singh, who is of no relation to the officer, originally sought an unspecified amount of money in the June 2009 lawsuit filed against the officer, the city of Hayward, and eight other people.
