Phillip J. Lopez

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. I have a passion for helping others and decided to be an attorney to be an advocate for injured individuals. After college, I attended South Texas College of Law Houston. During law school, I was a Student Ambassador, Vice President of the Criminal Law Society, and a member of the Hispanic Law Students Association and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. In addition to my studies, I gained experience as a law clerk at several personal injury, general civil litigation, probate litigation, and estate planning law firms.

Following graduation, I was a Briefing Attorney with The Honorable Michael B. Newman of Harris County Probate Court No. 2 in Houston, Texas. After my time with the court, I worked as a Contract Attorney for a family law and civil litigation firm handling divorce, custody, and general civil litigation claims.

I relocated to North Carolina in 2022, and began my career with the Kellum Law Firm. I practice in the areas of personal injury and workers’ compensation. I am the first lawyer in my family, and am extremely proud of my ability to be an advocate for others going through difficult times. I hope to continue to build on my negotiation experience and work zealously to maximize the value of my client’s cases.
