Hi, I’m Melenni Balbach. A North Carolina attorney and co-founder of Balbach & Davenport, a law firm built for real life.

I started my legal career in family law litigation, working on high-conflict divorces and custody cases that were emotionally and financially exhausting for everyone involved. I saw good people lose their peace, their money, and sometimes their ability to communicate; all because they didn’t get the right support early enough. And I knew there had to be a better way.

Over time, I realized I wasn’t just passionate about advocating for clients in court; I was driven to help people avoid court altogether. That’s what led me to start this firm: a modern, client-focused practice built around prevention, clarity, and calm. I offer legal guidance for major life transitions like marriage, separation, family building, and estate planning, with a strong focus on alternative dispute resolution, proactive planning, and flat-fee transparency.
