Stephen Peter Kangers

Stephen Peter Kangers has always had a passion and zeal for the law, legal matters, and serving the community. Mr. Kangers has an extensive background of educational achievement and experience. 

His educational background began with earning an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice technology. While being a perennial member of the Dean’s List, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina University, where he was a member of the Criminal Justice Association and The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. 

Upon completion of his Bachelor’s Degree, Mr. Kangers attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he obtained his Masters of Science Degree, majoring in Criminal Justice. While obtaining his Masters, he was awarded an academic merit-based teaching assistantship both years.  He also served as Graduate student liaison between students and faculty, and was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society. He graduated with honors. 

After his Masters, Mr. Kangers taught various Criminal Justice courses as an Adjunct Instructor at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. He also worked on several state grant-funded research programs in the field of Juvenile Law and diversion programs. During this period, Mr. Kangers also worked and gained valued experience in the fields of Banking, Finance, Insurance, Private Security, and in positions dealing with, or working in concert with many bureaucratic State and Federal Agencies. 

In 2009, Mr. Kangers earned a second Bachelor’s Degree from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, majoring in Political Science. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and earned his Juris Doctor in 2013. During the course of completing his J.D., it was his privilege to clerk one semester for the ACLU of Georgia, and Intern at the DeKalb County Public Defender’s Office, Juvenile Division. He gained valuable experience under the Third Year Practice Act and was able to successfully argue for a TPO against an abusive partner in Fulton County Superior Court for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.  Mr. Kangers is very competent, and comfortable, in the Courtroom. 

Stephen Peter Kangers became of Member of the State Bar of Georgia in 2013. He is also a Member of the Bar for the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia & is a Member of the Bar for the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia.
