Ashton Paige Overholt

Ashton Overholt joined Rice Law in 2015. Ashton grew up in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina before moving to the Chapel Hill to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism specifically, public relations from UNC in 2012. Ashton went on to attend law school at Campbell University School of Law in Raleigh, and graduated in 2015. While in law school, she served as Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity Marshall, participated in the Domestic Violence Advocacy Pro Bono Project, and also volunteered her time working for Wake County Legal Aid in their Child’s Advocate Program.  Ashton also participated in the Richard A. Lord Intramural Moot Court Competition and served as the Secretary of the Women in Law student association. In recognition for her accomplishments in the classroom, Ashton received an award for academic achievement in Advanced Negotiations and Analysis. Ashton has gained courtroom experience as an intern for the District Attorney’s Office both New Hanover County and Brunswick County. Ashton was able to build her knowledge of the family law practice throughout law school while working with the law firm of Marshall & Taylor in Raleigh, NC. After spending nearly eight years in the Triangle area, Ashton has made her way back to her hometown to practice law with Rice Law. Ashton is currently a member of the New Hanover County Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.
