Never hire con artist Judy Foyle at Foyles Law Firm

Hired this law firm for a very simple non-contested divorce, needed a separation agreement written up. 3 months of hiring them, I had received nothing from them, no letter, no progress, no questions for me, nothing at all. When I called to see why I had recieved no updates on my case, I spoke to an e...xtremely rude woman named Leydis. I was obviously charged $90 for the phone call, to have them say that they had been working on my case, and they were planning on sending it to me in a few days, and that if I did not want to be charged for the call, I should be using the portal they gave me to see all of the work they had been doing. Part of the reason I called was because I had sent multiple messages on the portal that were ignored, and had seen no documents uploaded involving my case. While she did admit that this was their mistake, I was charged the $90 phone call. After half a year from the date of hiring, there was still no final draft of a simple non-contested separation agreement. This is when I decided to fire Mr. Foyles for his incompetency. At this point, he had somehow billed me for $1,400, while giving me no useable agreement. I told him that I was entitled to a $1,200 refund, showing him the screenshotted billing notes. Even though in his contract, he refers to the $2,500 as a RETAINER, later in the fine contract he says that the $2,500 is his minimum fee. Minimum fee for a man who does no work on his client cases. So I was not given my refund upon firing him for not doing his job. I have found an absolutely overwhelming amount of one star reviews that all speak of the same story. I do believe that all clients who have hired him have been misled and misdirected. I do believe that Judy Foyles intentionally refuses to work on cases, knowing that he has fooled people into paying a minimum fee that he will not be required to pay back. DO NOT PAY THIS MAN TO DO NOTHING. When you meet the whole staff, it becomes extremely clear why this place recieves such consistent and harsh criticism. FINAL NOTE: Anyone who has fallen victim to this practice, PLEASE, submit an official complaint to the Better Business Bureau, as well as an official filing of Lawyer Misconduct to the NC State Bar. It is very important that as regular people, we hold these businesses accountable for their actions. Lawyers in particular are able to use financial intimidation and sneaky contract practices to shove their clients into a corner. If enough people take the proper action, such as submitting official legal forms, something can eventually be done about it. Submitting honest feedback via google review is great, it at least warns others to turn back before it is too late, but truly the only way to handle this is through legitimate networks. Hoping I am not the first to report this firm.

Stereotypical Lawyer

I hired Mr. Foyles to represent me for my divorce and child custody/support case hearings. Mr. Foyles came across knowledgeable and willing to defend and support you however when push came to shove he backed down. My case was like many other divorce cases, generally the 'mother' falsely accuses the '...father' of everything under the sun from child abuse, adultery, animal abuse, etc without any evidence whatsoever. Mr. Foyles would not defend nor reveal the blatant lies and mishandling of the case and let the other side say and do what they want without any fight whatsoever. Mr. Foyles had a hard time keeping me informed, doing his homework despite the fact I did 90% of the legwork for him. There is one thing he is very prompt on, sending a bill, he notifies you and pushes to make sure you pay him even though he was not persistent with my case. My case should have been an open and close case and it turned into a debauchery. He is not a bulldog in the courtroom.
