Louis A. Trosch

Lou Trosch, founding partner of the firm, first was joined in the practice by his father-in-law, TC Conrad. Lou's wife, Minette Trosch, now is a partner as are two of their sons, Bill and Eric. A third son, Lou Jr., was a member of the firm before becoming a District Court Judge. One of his daughters-in-law also is a District Court Judge, and Lou's identical twin brother is a CPA and tax attorney. Lou and Minette have seven grand-children. He has headed the firm's real estate division since 1970.  One of his most cherished possessions is his 1964 Volkswagen Bug boasting more than 400,000 miles

Lou Trosch has more than 45 years of experience in the practice of real estate law, general litigation, business and corporate law, probate and estate administration. In addition, he is an award-winning Professor of Business Law at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is author of numerous law articles. Lou’s practice areas include:

Certified by the NC Real Estate Commission as an approved lecturer, Lou has taught four-hour mandatory real estate courses and four-hour elective courses for its ongoing continuing education program. He also has led monthly training sessions for various real estate brokerage firms including Caldwell Banker, Allen Tate Realty and ERA Panther Real Estate Companies.

Since 1969, Lou has taught Business Law to more than 16,000 students at UNC Charlotte, reaching full professorship in 1986. In 1983, he was chosen by the entire faculty as one of two recipients of the University's “Excellence in Teaching” award. During his tenure at UNCC, Lou has published well over 50 journal articles, refereed proceedings and made numerous presentations to regional and national conferences.
