Thomas C. Porter

I cannot believe Thomas Porter is a licensed attorney. He is so unprofessional and lazy it just blows my mind. Give him your money and you will never hear from him. He will NEVER return your calls or keep you informed. The only time he will go to the courthouse for anything is the one day of the week... he has court, other than that don't expect him to do anything for you in a timely fashion. Moral of the story, my case was cut and dry but hiring Thomas Porter made it drag out. You would be better off doing everything on your own. DO NOT HIRE HIM, he is a headache and a waste of money.

I hired Porter for an assault with a deadly weapon charge. He made me pay $1000 to him then took me to go turn myself in at the Meck Co. Jail. After I received my first court date, he notified me by phone that he would go to initial hearing (I didn't need to go). But that's when it all started going... down hill. I called him repeatedly before my second court date in order to touch base and learn what the process is (I am a first time offender-clean record). He never returned my calls so I finally texted him, politely. He called me back and yelled at me for calling because he was on vacation... Um, I am supposed to know that? Have an automated vacation message!!... He finally contacted me to let me know that my case was going to go to mediation, but come to find out, Meck Co. has been doing this mediation process for ALL person vs. person cases since the beginning of the year. He failed to mention mediation to me the entire time! Finally, after my case was dismissed (no thanks to him, whatsoever), I find out from the clerk of court, NOT PORTER, that I can get the case completely expunged from my record for free. He served absolutely NO purpose to my entire case, he failed to mention the most important part of the settlement, and he was completely rude. DO NOT HIRE!

We hired Mr. Porter as a defense attorney. Not to go into the details but is was for a DUI. He gave us a court date and did no even remember he told us to be there. He left us a message at home on the date he told us to be at court. He just seemed disengaged in the case. We felt that it was in ...our best interest to find a new lawyer. We were so happy we did as we found out that Mr. Porter did not Subpoena any docs as it related to our case basically he did nothing but take our money!! We wrote him a letter and asked for our money as he did nothing and his response letter back was sorry you signed non refund doc. Wow after he did nothing for us talk about no accountablity. The good news is that our new lawyer did a great job and we won the case. Mr. Porter does not take any accountablity for his actions and I believe he is all about plea bargins rather then fighting for his clients. I would never recommend this guy 3rd lawyer at best!!
