Exceptional Advocacy and Dedication: A Review of Andrew Rheingrover's Outstanding Legal Support

I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and dedication provided by Andrew Rheingrover over the past several years. Andrew has been instrumental in navigating one of the most challenging alimony cases on record in the state. His relentless effort includes supporting me through numerous cou...rt trials and two Court of Appeals hearings. While I have faced intense scrutiny during the trials, it is the judges' rulings that are currently under significant scrutiny in the ongoing appellate proceedings. Andrew, a distinguished member of one of Charlotte, NC’s most prestigious law firms, continues to fight tirelessly on my behalf. I extend my deepest thanks to him for his exceptional service. I am forever in his debt.

Exceptional, Talented, and Hard-Working Attorney

Andrew is an extremely effective attorney. I started out with a different attorney for my difficult child custody case. I did not feel that my prior attorney had my best interest in mind and was doing only the bare minimum in preparing my case. I decided to seek other representation. I hired Andrew... very late in the process, with my TPA hearing only 2 weeks away. Andrew was able to put together a very solid and sensible case based on the facts, far superior to what was done previously for me. Right away, I noticed a dramatic difference in the way Andrew was handling and preparing my case, compared to my previous attorney. I was extremely impressed with how quickly Andrew got up to speed and reviewed/prepared all of the evidence in such a short amount of time. He is organized and stays on top of everything. In addition, he made himself very available to me, whether it was just questions I had, or any concerns or updates that I needed to know. He continued to work diligently throughout the entire weekend prior to my hearing. Andrew has a unique ability to look at the facts, makes sense of your case, and then present them in a very intelligent and articulate way. Andrew is the entire reason I now have joint custody of my 4-month-old son and that he is being returned to his home state. I am immensely grateful to Andrew for his hard work in fighting for my rights as a father. I absolutely recommend Andrew as an attorney. My only regret is that I did not find Andrew initially. Child custody cases are very expensive so it is critical that you hire an attorney that will work hard and fight for your parental rights. Andrew Rheingrover is that man.

Proud Client

Andrew has been a huge blessing and supporter in my case! I spoke to him in a consultation a couple of months prior to my separation and he took his time and listened and took notes of everything that I said to him. After speaking with him, I knew immediately that he was who I wanted to represent me ...if I needed him ( I had spoken to 3 other attorneys prior to meeting Andrew). Shortly after my separation, I had papers served to me from my ex to try and get full custody of our daughter. I was devastated, hurt and in disbelief that my ex would ever do something like this. I immediately contacted Andrew to let him know what was going on and he jumped on my case instantly. Andrew is very caring, knowledgeable, and a man of his word. Throughout this process he has been very pro-active and with all the stress that comes along with a separation/divorce/custody case; Andrew has a way to put you at ease. I have full trust that Andrew has my best interest and truly grateful to have him as my attorney. He is just phenomenal! Also, I can not leave out Jane (paralegal). She is truly just an Angel! She's very informative and responsive and just overall awesome. I would definitely recommend Andrew to anyone who is dealing with a divorce/custody battle!

Yeah about that...

I consulted with Andrew multiple times last year for both a potential custody modification after being assaulted at a custody exchange (which occurred because my ex was upset about CPS getting involved after I filed a police complaint), and to prepare for a 50B hearing. Over the course of a few month...s where I consulted him multiple times while trying to get him to move forward with my custody modification case, I discovered in hindsight that his reluctance was a blessing in disguise. For starters, he was shocked to discover that if someone has an active custody order in place and files for a 50B restraining order in Mecklenburg County, they would not be in the typical 4th-floor courtroom. He was aware all matters relating to a custody case would be seen by the same judge who signed the order, but how could he not have simultaneously foreseen that this would mean going to this judge's courtroom on a different floor instead? Also, he failed to tell me in the prep consultation for the 50B hearing that a police report was not admissible because of the hearsay clause since the officers were not present that day. I only discovered that from my ex's lawyer on the day of court, leading me to sign a garbage Rule 65 injunction that Andrew advised I accept just "to take something," despite knowing how this hadn't helped me in the past. Shame on me perhaps for taking that Rule 65, but I must admit, it would've been nice if Andrew didn't claim he couldn't attend the hearing that week because "he's got other appointments that day." Hmmm... Also at another point, my child was experiencing a mental health crisis. My child was so scared of spending a week at my ex's house per the custody agreement that my child was talking about taking their life if they had to go during the holiday break. This was compounded by the fact that my ex had previously refused to let our child get therapy for an anxiety-related condition. What did Andrew do when I was speaking to his paralegal about this terrifying situation that had me in a panic? He ended up telling me through his paralegal that I should consult with my ex before getting my child MEDICALLY evaluated at the ER. It turns out in the custody agreement that should there be a medical emergency, the custodial parent has the legal right to take any child to the emergency room for a medical emergency and tell my ex as soon as is practical. For anyone who doesn't know, when someone is threatening suicide or experiencing suicidal ideation, you are to treat this as a true MEDICAL EMERGENCY, not just someone being melodramatic who needs a pep talk. Thank God my ex decided to be reasonable that day and kept the normal exchange schedule to keep our child stable. I later told a therapist about what happened. I was informed that I absolutely should have taken my child to the emergency room for that vital piece of documentation. Shouldn't documentation like this be exactly what a lawyer would tell a potential or retained client to gather for the paper trail, especially when there are other serious things involved in a case? Bottom line is, as nice of a guy as Andrew is, he may be a great lawyer if you and your ex can talk about dividing assets and custody arrangements over coffee. Mediation seems to be more his speed. However, if your case involves any serious aspects, domestic violence, or your children have mental health conditions and/or disabilities that show any current agreement is no longer benefiting them, I suggest you hire someone else. I'm glad he saw my evidence and believed in me enough to say this agreement isn't working, but he didn't believe in my case enough to pursue this desperately needed modification. I believe it was ultimately a blessing in disguise for myself that he did not take on my case because of the critical oversights that took place during the consultations and the advice that was given. I wished it worked out, but it didn't.

"I have worked on several cases directly with Andrew. He is a very trustworty, professional and knowledgeable attorney. He has handled several complicated custody and equitable distribution matters, that many attorneys do not have the opportunity to participate in until much later in their career. He handled these responsibilities exceptionally. Recently, I have received several enthusiastic reports from judges and other attorneys about Andrew's skill in the court room. I am proud to have him as an associate."
