Mary R. Blanton

A North Carolina Board Certified Family Law Specialist since 2001,  I graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1981 while working on Capital Hill in Washington, DC..  Blanton Law Firm, PA is a general practice.  My husband, Ted, former District Court Judge, handles traffic, criminal matters, personal injury, and real property issues.  I am licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Virginia (inactive). I am also a certified family financial mediator in our court system, and have completed 40 hours of mediation training.  As a member of the North Carolina Association of Professional Family Mediators, I assist people going through separation and divorce to resolve their disputes without court involvement by marital contract negotiations and by conducting pre-litigation private mediations and/or arbitrations.  Many of our clients return to us for other matters through the years, such as wills, powers of attorney and health care powers, traffic tickets, and local real estate refinances and purchases.  My undergraduate degree is from Wake Forest, where I graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.  We have raised 4 children here in Rowan County, and have both been active in civic and church related activities.  We have a staff of experienced and compassionate paralegals who have been with us over 20 years.  We strive to provide personalized service to our clients.  We take time to make sure they understand the issues they face and work collaboratively with them toward the best solution for them.  We look forward to serving your legal needs in Rowan County.
