The client sued its primary insurer after the insurer refused to defend or settle an action against the ma ... nufacturer that alleged patent infringement and malicious prosecution. The attorneys of Little Reid & Karzai obtained partial summary judgment rulings establishing that the primary insurer breached its defense duty and settlement duty and establishing that the policy's $250,000 self-insured retention was not triggered. The only remaining issue for trial at the time of settlement was the extent of damages.
