I incurred a speeding in Cabarrus County. Being that I live over 3 hours away and work full-time, I felt it best to hire a lawyer to represent me in court. I got many unsolicited offers in the mail from lawyers wanting me to use their services but was uncomfortable hiring someone based simply on a le...tter. I contacted the mother of one of my daughter's friends, who is an attorney in a neighboring county to Cabarrus. She recommeded attorney Baker right away. I contacted Ms. Baker, who was very kind and professional. All the forms and payment were set up online, making it a very easy process. Attorney Baker delivered as promised and got my ticket reduced to improper equipment. No points, no increase in my car insurance premium. I could not have asked for a better, easier experience. Laura Baker gets the job done at a reasonable rate! Highly recommend!

Maybe she is a better criminal lawyer, but I wish I had chosen someone who would advocate for me in my case. She was sporadic in her communication with me, I found myself having to recant my story several times over a year, as if she didn't believe me. I only heard from her 1-2 days prior to going ...to court. When I expressed my disappointment, it was if I had struck her across the face. I was met with the, "well what do you mean?", or the "what are you trying to say?" I don't feel as if I was represented well, and I was not guilty, but I could not afford to take this to trial at her rate. The case went on well over 1 year, without any positive repercussions.

Laura baker seems like a nice woman but she is very unprofessional in her business practices. She is also more expensive than other, more experienced and overall better attorneys in the Concord area. She is very slow to communicate about case information and is very short with her replies. I understa...nd she's a busy woman but for the amount of money she's been paid, I expect better service. She also waited until the last minute to share certain details of a plea bargain that would've made me change my mind about the deal completely. Seeing as she waited until the last possible minute, I was pretty much forced to take the deal. In my opinion, she waited to tell me because she didn't want to put in the extra work to try and make the deal better. VERY disappointed in her service and truly wish I'd have went with someone else. Will never use her services again and I highly, highly recommend you pay an attorney who will actually appreciate your money and not keep secrets from you!!
