My wife was unjustly charged with a DWI by a NC State Trooper after a minor single vehicle accident where she passed out or fell asleep, ran off edge of road, and side swiped a guard rail. There were no injuries, thank goodness. The State police were called by local police. She was transported to ER ...before the Trooper arrived. The Trooper did not see her until he arrived at hospital ER. He did not have personal witness of a DWI condition as she was sleeping in ER. He decided to site her with DWI citation at the accident scene before he had witnessed her condition. We contacted Laura and after a consultation we decided to hire her to represent my wife in court. Laura gathered all the facts and talked to the EMS personnel and Police Officers that responded to the incident. She did extensive research on the case and that work was evident as the case went before the Court. We were both very impressed with Laura as she argued the blood samples the Trooper had taken at hospital were unjust. My wife takes prescription pain medication which had shown up in the blood test and would have negatively affected the outcome of the case. She was not overdosed. The Judge disallowed the blood test from the case. She continued her arguments and ultimately had the DWI charge dismissed. My wife did get charged with failure to maintain control of her vehicle and received at $25 fine plus court cost. Laura is very pleasant to work with and very straight forward about what you can expect from the Court room. We were very happy with her service and do recommend her.

I’ve reached out first by message on avvo several times to this Lawyer and she has never responded to messages nor has she called me so after I was served my warrants in arraigned on bond, I am now seeking a lawyer for my probable call and I’ve called her firm over 17 times there is never any answer ...no response to messages and this Lawyer seems to be missing in action or not taking on any cases or possibly even close for business if you’re looking for somebody in Cabarrus County, I would try a different Lawyer. I could recommend two good ones that have responded to me, but I’m not allowed to make that kind of recommendation here all I can say is never responds. Doesn’t email doesn’t call doesn’t message back doesn’t even acknowledge you. Exist or have an answering service to direct a client to her so I would just avoid this Attorney altogether obviously she does not want business nor does she care for clients or potential clients

Laura baker seems like a nice woman but she is very unprofessional in her business practices. She is also more expensive than other, more experienced and overall better attorneys in the Concord area. She is very slow to communicate about case information and is very short with her replies. I understa...nd she's a busy woman but for the amount of money she's been paid, I expect better service. She also waited until the last minute to share certain details of a plea bargain that would've made me change my mind about the deal completely. Seeing as she waited until the last possible minute, I was pretty much forced to take the deal. In my opinion, she waited to tell me because she didn't want to put in the extra work to try and make the deal better. VERY disappointed in her service and truly wish I'd have went with someone else. Will never use her services again and I highly, highly recommend you pay an attorney who will actually appreciate your money and not keep secrets from you!!
