Jay Has Your Back

I was on vacation in OBX from out of state and ran into some trouble with the law. Hiring Jay was the best choice I could have made. He thoroughly researched the facts and law of my case, was very responsive and clearly presented my options before trial. Despite having bad facts on my side he took... my case to trial, masterfully cross-examined the prosecution's witnesses, and exposed the bad facts of THEIR case. As an attorney myself, it is a rare pleasure to watch someone so talented in the art of cross-examination. Even the State Trooper who was the prosecution's main witness remarked that Jay was the best attorney he has faced. In the end, I know I got the best possible outcome thanks to Jay's responsiveness, hard work and talent.

Best of the best. Understanding and empathetic.

I am from out of state and received multiple violations in Dare County. I was extremely upset as I'd already continued on to Florida and had been told I would need to appear in court. I called Mr. Wheless's office after seeing how highly he has been recommended by others and I now know why. He cal...led me back within an hour of my leaving a voicemail. He was so kind and reassuring and calmed me down. He asked me for information regarding the incident, and then clearly went through what he could and could not do to represent me as my attorney and to set my expectations as to what the outcome of my case could be. He explained the fee structure for his help and provided a list of things I should do to help my case. His team then contacted me with the details of what I needed to do. I followed those instructions and provided what was needed. His staff is incredibly helpful and function as a true team. Their communication skills are top notch. Mr. Wheless was able to get two of the citations dismissed and a third reduced in nature carrying only a small fine and court costs. The result was even better than I'd hoped. If you ever find yourself with traffic violations in Dare County, Mr. Wheless and his team are the only attorney you should consider.
