Patient was scheduled for a routine follow up for high blood pressure. While in the doctor's office, the patient began experiencing dizziness and nausea so severe he had difficulty standing. Primary ... care physician diagnosed vertigo and instructed patient to go home and lie down and take prescription given. Patient followed directions for 24+ hours until conditioned worsened progressively. Upon reporting to ER patient was diagnosed with a stroke. Stroke had occurred while in physician's office and he had mis-diagnosed as vertigo. Had it been timely diagnosed, patient likely would not have suffered severe disability.
