Should Be Ashamed of Himself

An attorney who knows Mr. Read very well told me that Dan has taken the positions he has in family law cases out of ignorance. During the conversation I told that attorney that I couldn't understand how a well educated man could do so other than he must only be concerned with money, and that I wished... Mr. Read knew the negative impact he had on our children and our community when he uses the courts to alienate father's from their children. I could never describe to you the anguish that my child demonstrated because Dan saw to it to have her father placed in a jail while knowing I was struggling. As a teeneger my daughter still talks about how ill conceived his positions seem to be and how poor his behavior must have been to do this to a childs parent. (...) the father plays an important role in childhood development. He must be a model for the boy and a precursor of a lover for the girl. If he decides that bringing up children is the woman's job, his children are in trouble." - Dr. John E. Sarno Mr. Read has a long history of attacking people at a personal level, filing frivilous motions, making false statements to the courts and filing orders that are not factually indicative of what occured in the courtroom. He is especially contemptuous toward fathers in spite of maintaining the persona of an upstanding christian, community man and father. When asked what I would tell him if he asked me what I felt of him I replied ~ 'You should be ashamed of yourself.'

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
