Biography
John's practice is presently concentrated in the defense of major and complex workers' compensation claims, although he has also practiced in the area of general civil defense litigation, including premises liability, professional malpractice, and personal injury. He has an active trial, mediation, and appellate practice, including regular trial and hearing appearances before the United States District Courts of North Carolina, Civil Superior and District Courts of North Carolina, North Carolina Industrial Commission, North Carolina Court of Appeals, and the North Carolina Supreme Court.
John is also a frequent lecturer who enjoys speaking to insurance and industry clients on various topics, including workers' compensation and related continuing education programs. In 2013 and 2014 he was listed in Best Lawyers in America for Workers’ Compensation-Employers and has also earned the highest (AV-Rated) ranking awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.
