Mr. Rodden agreed to represent me pro se regarding obtaining a restraining order post domestic violence. Max is a really great family attorney. I went through 2 custody hearings and a divorce. Hopefully, I will never have to go through what I went through again, but if I do, Max would be my only choice. Going through this difficult situation was very stressful and mentally exhausting for me. Max is ...very calm, but his laid-back temperament does not mean he doesn’t care about your case. Looking back, if I’ve learned anything, you do not want an attorney who is high strung. If your attorney gets all wound up with you, both of you are not thinking clear. Max is the perfect balance of calm that I needed, as I was falling off the edge. Through the hearing preparation, Max clearly explained things to me, advised me of potential scenarios that may happen in court based on the facts of my case, advised me of what documents I would need to bring with me to be prepared, and when it was time for him to give his thoughts to the judge, he did not hold back. When he was giving his closing arguments, he remembered details that I didn’t even remember, which says a lot about the attention and time he put into my case. I also really appreciated that Max didn’t overwhelm me with information and advice I did not need. Family attorneys bill by the hour. The more he advises on what “could” happen (there are so many possible scenarios), the more my bill goes up. At the beginning of the case, he asked me for a timeline of all the events that happened, and he went to work. He gave me information/advice on a need to know basis to keep my bill lower. But if I had a question, even if it was during weekend hours, he was quick to answer me. I wouldn’t have made it through my situation without Max. As I mentioned above, he is calm, collective, organized, detail oriented and has the experience you want to have on your side. Once a custody order is done, it is very difficult to change anything, so this may be your only chance. Make sure you make the right choice by choosing Max. Your child is worth it!

I hired Max Rodden and paralegal Tara Whitley for an unfortunate separation case with my wife.
