DO NOT HIRE AN ATTORNEY FOR A DWI! Plead guilty and get the process started as soon as possible. Chances are you are going to be convicted either way( Especially if you’re a minority and have no legal connections). After almost two years of back and forth court appearances I received the same sente...nce as someone with multiple DWI’s and a suspended licenses. I paid several thousands of dollars just for Chris’ attorney fee for the worse possible defense! I was convicted of a DWI with the facts being under the influence; behind the wheel; asleep; in my vehicle; with my music playing. Police are trained to coerce a false confession and that exactly what they did to me! Any competent attorney should have been able to beat this case! Chis barley set down with me and discussed my case as he should have. We basically went over - what judges he knows, who his wife is and joking with the prosecutions about his suit matching his tie! They received more attorney/client time than I did! Had me put an interlock device in my car early only for it to be another never ending MONEY PIT! (Hair spray, inaccurate running test, vinaigrette salad dressing have all equated to $50 fines…each) Then to find out my time and money are minuet because it technically does not start until sentencing. I was also told I would be saving money if I completed community service ahead of time. Heck no, still had to pay over $500 in court cost(would have been nice if he told me the fees ahead of time and to pay cash). I wish I had represented myself and plead guilty. Chis helped my case in no way, shape, fashion, or form! I received a worst sentence than another defendant who was under the influence, crossed over two lanes of traffic, and didn’t have a valid license to begin with! He doesn’t have to have an interlock device installed in his car. All-in-all this has been the worst two years of my life. The best thing to come out of it was the fact I quit drinking, but my life is still ruined. Use the attorney fees to pay for all the additional cost it’s going to take to pay our corrupt legal system. ***if I could put no stars I would!
