Jeremy Denton Adams

I originally hired Jeremy to represent me in 2016. I knew something seemed off about him from the beginning. Jeremy and his partner at the time didn't have an actual office or a website and he was continuously difficult to get ahold of. He actually responded to a craigslist ad I posted requesting leg...al assistance for a lawsuit I wanted to file with my graduate school program. I was wrongfully dismissed from my school with only 8 weeks remaining until graduation. After filing the complaint in the wrong court district, Jeremy then failed to notify me of or attend my only scheduled court hearing. You would think that he would contact me and apologize, right? NOPE! The only way I found out I even had a court hearing was through from my brother, who is also an attorney and was able to review the docket. After I asked Jeremy about it, he admitted that he did not attend and his excuse was that he was never notified of the hearing. Luckily, my case was so strong that it survived the motion to dismiss despite my attorney not even being there to argue on my behalf. After 3 years, we finally reached the deposition stage of the case. I was very nervous because I had never been deposed before. I wanted to spend as much time as possible but the only help Jeremy was able to give me was a 30 minute phone call. During the 8 hour deposition with the attorney general from North Carolina, Jeremy notified everyone that he had leave to run errands. We all waited around for an hour for Jeremy to come back from these errands. During one break, Jeremy took a 30 minute phone call! I tried asking him get off the phone so that we could get back to the deposition but he just ignored me and continued on. Apparently he had more important things to do that day. Instead of scheduling both of my depositions on consecutive days so that I didn't have to book two separate flights, I ended up having to come back a few weeks later. After I had already booked the flight, the attorney general ended up offering a settlement deal. The settlement deal was unfavorable but I just didn't want to risk having this guy represent me at trial and lose, so I accepted it. I could go on and on about the reprehensible things this guy did. I'll always wonder what would have happened with my case had I actually hired a quality attorney.
