Not recommended. This lawyer had to be replaced. He was appointed so I didn’t have a choice in choosing him. I could sense in his tone from the beginning of our first phone call that he did not agree with me or my position for my situation through the language he used to address me, word choice. Afte...r I told Mr. Morgan my side of events he immediately said I was guilty. He’s like “Yea, that what you just told me, you’re guilty”. Didn’t ask any exculpatory or mitigating questions to get a better understanding of the context, nothing. "It's no skin off my back, it's your life". I’m thinking “I beg your pardon sir?”. “What?”. I immediately told Mr. Morgan he’s going to have to tone it down, yes, it’s my life & don’t talk to me about my life that way. Super condescending. I mentioned I believed I was railroaded, he disagreed. I told him nobody informed me of any fees for appointed lawyers, he insisted I was told. I repeated I was not told, he insisted a 2nd time I was told despite just literally telling this guy twice I wasn't told. Mr. Morgan is a terrible listener, combative, and he interrupted repeatedly. He didn’t listen to a word I said. Mr. Morgan clearly was going out of his way to make it as obvious as possible he was not in my corner, and trust me, the message was received loud and clear. I weighed all of this overwhelming adversity and it didn’t take much to quickly decide on the phone to tell Mr. Morgan I needed to fire & replace him for ineffective counsel.
