Literally the best lawyer I could possibly ask for
Jan Pritchett has been an amazing blessing in my life. I got into some pretty serious trouble and have had to spend some time digging myself out. He was referred to me by another lawyer, and gave me a great rate based on that referral, and has treated me like family ever since. When I got sober last ...

Do I even have to give them a whole star- The Worst Ever
THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! Initially, I was advised by a bondsman, another court official to not get Jan Pritchett. Simply because they watch many of their clients who retained him get “washed up creek” by the system. Unfortunately, I put my trust in the advisement of his frat brother which I shouldn’t...
I certainly am not happy that my services generated a complaint. However, I spent hours (as did another attorney in the office who has been practicing for 24 years) explaining to the client that the district attorney and not the defense attorney controls when jury trials are called. It certainly is better for me to move cases faster and not have cases linger in my office for two years. It is true that when the client decided he would come to my office everyday until his case was tried (even though it had been explained to him over and over that the district attorney determines which cases are tried), that I had to limit the excessive conversations about the same matter over which I had no control. He unfortunately was not the first nor the last to experience a trial delay. Furthermore, his case was with another attorney for over a year when he came to my office. The evidence in this particular case caused the client to be charged with felony child abuse. This was mainly because of the injuries that were attested to by his son, a forensic child psychologist and photographed by the police. Despite this, through my advocacy, I was able to persuade the prosecutor to try the case as two misdemeanor offenses. This indeed kept the client from being put in jeopardy of having a felony on his record for the rest of his life. After 26 years of practice and having been called upon by elected officials and court personnel who are familiar with my work (including the successful representation of the son of one of the best criminal defense attorneys in town a few months ago), I will continue to do the best that I can for all of my clients. Unfortunately in this case, it was the testimony of the client's son (who continued to be in therapy from the events that gave rise to the case), the pictures and his ex-wife, that led to his misdemeanor conviction. Upon reflection, I did all that I could in the case and received several compliments from court personnel. One even stated, " I thought you might pull another rabbit out of your hat!!!"
"I’ve been around the courthouse and have observed Jan in multiple trials and interactions with court personnel, clients, and judges. He is prepared, professional, and genuinely cares about his clients. I would confidently recommend him."
"I had many cases with Jan as opposing counsel for the 15 years I was a prosecutor. He was always, professional, ethical, & did excellent work for his clients. Seven years ago, I joined the defense bar & am happy to call Jan a colleague now. He does so much for our local bar & is a wonderful lawyer. And he’s definitely on my short list of who I would call if I were ever in trouble."
"Jan is an excellent attorney. He cares about his clients and is very diligent in making sure you receive a positive outcome."
"I have known Jan for close to 20 years. He supervised me as an intern in the Guilford County District Attorney's office while I was still in law school. I learned a lot from him in a short period of time. I think the most valuable lesson was watching how to respectfully treat your apposing counsel while still zealously doing your job. In the years that I have been in private practice, I have referred everything that I could to Jan. He does a fantastic job and gets good results. I highly recommend him for any criminal matter."
"Jan Pritchett is easily one of the nicest human beings I have ever had the privilege to be around. He is also an incredibly talented lawyer. As a fantastic lawyer and a model citizen, he is an asset to Guilford County's legal community."
